New kit

So first run with all the new kit. Possibly I should have picked either new shoes or compression pants to really be able to judge each individually, but I really don't think like that, do I?

Shoes - take a bit of getting used to. I have spanky new running shoes with the roll-toe (I don't know what it is supposed to be called). Which I found were easier to use on the paths than than on the lawn, which was kind of interesting. It is much easier to check your stride and strike on the path and I found in the final three runs that the bits I run on the path were much easier. I think I will need to experiment with how tightly I lace these shoes up.

Skins - I liked these alot. It felt better running with no jiggling. I don't know about helping your muscles, but I did feel a bit better in the second half of the run. Less fun when you get home and sit down and bend to undo your shoes though - felt like I was being cut in half! Can't be that tight as I don't have any seam marks on my body when I take them off. I really liked the skins and will definitely be continuing with them, in fact I am now eyeing off some compression tops that are on sale - I am thinking they might help for boxing. At the very least, they might make me feel more comfortable as you definitely don't feel hot with them on.

When I got outside this morning to run, it was starting to rain. But I used to love running in the rain, so I went back inside and hunted out my water proof headphones, and went with them. It is fine to get skins wet according to their website, so I figured what the hell. The waterproof headphones are a pain though, they don't stay in your ears. I will need to hunt out the other bud thingies that I bought with them, and find more comfortable ear buds. And my heart rate monitor didn't work right this morning - firstly cause I forgot to turn it on until after my first running interval, and secondly because the chest strap slipped down while I was running. I have tightened the strap so that should be fine now.

So my monitor claimed I only burnt 300 kcal - but I assume it was at least 400 based on prior runs and assuming another 10 min of exercise.
