Things that made me happy today
The incredibly effective SOPA protests. If you want to see how much - http://www.msnbc.msn.com/id/26315908/ns/msnbc_tv-rachel_maddow_show/
further into that show is some more stuff about Wisconsin and the recall of their arsehat Governor, Scott Walker. They needed to collect about a million signatures in 60 days to set up a recall election - it looks like they collected a MILLION. That is one quarter of the voting public in Wisconsin. damn but that is awesome.
Also, collected like 800 000 signatures to recall the deputy gov and various other assorted republicans elected in 2010.
It is so heartening to actually see people finally going 'nope, enough is enough' and getting out and finding ways to join up and have their voices heard. It is truly fabulous - and messes with cynical me. Mississippi and the 'personhood' stuff, the recalls in various states, and the protests that are happening in all kinds of ways. Please let it continue - let this be the start of a paradigm shift.
and an unbelievably good potato salad I had a little bit of at lunch.
