Bugger

HBF has been arranging for various bike shops around Perth to do free services on bikes. I found out about this and got Wookie's and my bikes booked in at a local bike shop - Bike Force Subiaco.

Which was all great - until I tried to ride to work last Friday after the service. The sods had raised my seat. I am utterly furious. It took Juffy hours to get my seat the right height, and it is really important, as you can do a fair bit of damage to yourself if the seat isn't the right height. To your knees, to your back. I set off to ride and found that my legs are straight at the bottom of the pedal, with toes almost pointed. I can't possibly ride up hills like that. Actually you shouldn't ride at all like that, your knees need to be partly bent at the bottom of the pedal. The normal practice at bike shops, I am told is that they put tape on the bar before raising your seat, so that it can be put back in place.

So I couldn't ride on Friday and I was ropeable. And my plan was to go down to the bike shop on Saturday morning and make them fix it. Because I actually can't get the lever open to adjust it myself, even if that was a good idea. And as I was intending to go for a ride on Saturday morning, I would remember this plan.

Only Saturday was the morning of great noise and (on my part) furious anger - and I forgot all about it in the massive self-pity. So of course I have gotten up this morning in the wee small hours (wookie has early shift this week, and there is no way I don't wake up if he is getting up and heading off early) ready to head off to study and work, bike all packed up... to discover yet again that I can't ride the friggin thing, and I can't adjust it myself.

I am so grumpy right now it is not funny. Due to the babymarket yesterday, my back got such a workout that I don't want to haul all my stuff around in a backpack all day. Bugger bugger bugger. So bloody annoying.

Going to make tea and be annoyed for a while.
