Day 12
Finally did the run at level three!
Mind you, I did the running bits pretty durn slowly. At this level, after warm up you run 90 seconds, walk 90 seconds, run 3 minutes, walk 3 minutes, repeat. So I got through that alright, left knee grumbling quietly away from the first three minute run. Funny, as I started my second three minute run, I switched the display on my watch over so I could check the time. and either the guy on the podcat is lying or I read my watch wrong, because when I looked down a bit later my three minutes was nearly up. I was thinking 'that was piss easy! wow three mins goes fast'... no actually it doesnt - cause then the voice on my podcast said "you are doing great, just one more minute to run" aaaaaaaaaaarrrgh. But it was fine, I handled it fine.
Now, the heart rate thing. Again, my heart rate was right up during this exercise period. My walk to the park (admittedly it may have looked like I was sort of dancing up the street to pink.... but still) had my heart rate at 143 for some of it, I doubt the whole session ever got under the 60% mark. So much so that at the end of the last run, I flipped the watch display to time, and counted my heartbeats for 10 seconds to confirm that the watch is right. It is.
Stats: Dur - 36:49, AveHR - 144, MaxHR - 174, Cals 336
So the real question is this - shouldn't my heart-rate be going down as I get fitter?
