Not a baby post

Which is pretty amazing in and of itself!  

I started my volunteer work last night. I am working at an evening legal clinic at one of the community legal clinics. I managed to jump the queue (CLC vollie positions are actually wait listed, believe it or not) because I have a friend who works there who talked me up the the coordinator, and she asked me to start now, and said they would accommodate me and my *can't mention because it is a non-baby post* time constraints.

I loved it. It isn't a particularly demanding job, but I really enjoyed seeing real solicitors deal with clients. And it is fascinating to hear what is actually going on, on-the-ground as opposed to the by-the-book that we learn at uni.

Last night I sat in with the family lawyer. Which was cool (for me, pretty sad for those concerned). I took notes and the lawyers both gave me opportunities to ask questions. I am very keen to keep it up. I will have to put a bit of thought into my wardrobe though - I really am out of practice (and size) in wearing business clothes.
