Running

I finally got off my butt and went for a run this morning. I decided against starting from level one again, so I tried level two of the C25K program.

Not bad - I felt like I got stronger and better each of the first three running intervals. But after that I was tired, and after halfway I began to wonder if the walking intervals were really longer than the running intervals - really didn't feel that way.

Overall I was ok. Knee a bit grumpy in the last running session. The only problem was my left achilles got really tight towards the end of the run and the walk home. Actually my left achilles has been tight for a while, now that I think about it. Not interfering with any of my exercise until this morning, but tight after. And gone by the time I am sitting around a home with a phone - where I could make an appointment with a physio. I will do that now actually.

So my run was 34 mins, ave heart rate 136, max heart rate 173, 509 cals.

I have decided that the only way I am going to get fit is by doing something each day. So any day where I am not riding, or have a boot camp/boxing class, or swim - I will run. Do need to go and buy some new socks and a new pair of shoes. And sweat bands - can you still get them?

I got back from my run this morning all set to get down to work. And when I came back I found a bobcat with assorted attachments and a bunch of guys outside my flat putting cones up around the flat. The were doing.... actually I have absolutely no idea, and I watched them do it for a while. Something that required driving back and forth outside my windows and making banging noises. So I decided I would go off and do my errands.

I went off to have some medical tests - I have an autoimmune thing that requires regular blood tests and and my doctor likes to check other stuff... and if you don't turn up when they open the doors you can be there forever. Which I was.

Then I went to get some new sneakers and found myself sitting infront of the skins (which various people have been squeeing at me about) and so I ended up leaving with shoes, skins that were on sale, and a huge bundle of free socks.

Then into town to find the passport office - and a seriously amusing series of text messages with the friend I asked to look up where it was. And I found the BEST little shop in town. If you are at the corner of william and wellington look for this great little shop on the corner down from Nandos. Awesome stuff. I bought one friend a fantastic present and was dying to buy on for Fred_Mouse, but I think ze should come and look at the stuff first.

Got a call from a friend and was waiting to meet her for lunch, so ambled round T2 and Jacquie E and so on. Had an interesting lunch and made my way home to discover that the kettle has died.

Then I feel asleep.

So not a very productive day. At all. But, I have some new gear, and have watched the last two day's daily show - watch them, they are two of the BEST ever. Jon Stewart is seriously one of the best political commentators in the US. And honestly, Fox news should be shut down (raped too much - WTF). I love the way he calls them on it. He denounces the male religious idiots carrying on over birth control... actually just watch them - it is brilliant. And the interview with Ricky Gervaise is ... I don't even know what happened there.. panda porn? How the hell did they both end up miming panda porn - but it is seriously funny.
