and the winner is...
Mar. 8th, 2011 08:24 amIn the hunt for what has been making me nauseous and headache-y and making my food repeat on me all day.
It is not onions, bacon, garlic etc.
It is not the water here in the hood.
As it turns out it is my iron tablet. It was noted by a friend who takes them occasionally that she gets nausea from them, and perhaps that was what going on. So yesterday I didn't take one until late evening, and I had no problems all day. I finally took it right before going to bed, thinking that I might not notice anything if I slept through it.
Sadly, not so, I feel rubbish this morning. Nausea and can't face food . I have had the mid-afternoon headache from waking.
I am not sure what to do about this. I need to take the iron pill till at least the end of the month when I have my blood test. But I am not keen on feeling this crap for another three weeks. Also, I am a little concerned about why I am feeling so dreadful, and I seem to be feeling worse as this goes on. I mean, I had no problems for the first couple of weeks, then just breakfast repeating on me for a bit. Then all morning nausea, and then headaches in the afternoon and feeling a bit off for most of the day.
So what is this going to be like by the end of the month?
I know these tablets are sold in one formulation just as ferrous iron, but the other kind are sold with vitamin C as well, to aid absorption. Perhaps I need to try them. But this is clearly not going to be a long term solution to my iron problem if I literally can't stomach them.
