Oh Day 18

Yesterday's stats.

D - 37:12, Z - 32:46, AHR - 133, MHR - 153, Cals - 293

If it is true that 'it's the recovery that proves the fitness, not the speed' then I am certainly getting fit. I swim three lenghts of the diving pool at a time, 5 sets plus one extra lap at the end. I stop and take a drink between sets. I used to have about a minute off between sets, and now my watch starts beeping about 10-15 seconds into my rest. I can actually watch my heart rate plummet as soon as I stop moving.

It is happening on the bike too. I used to have it beep the 'too hard' beep while I was riding up the bridge, and that beep would keep going all the way along, down the other side and a fair chunk up the next straight. Now (I have changed the settings so it doesn't beep at me until I am really working hard - like dangerously hard) I ride up the hill and it is beeping that I am slacking off before I am even down the slope!

Doh!

Headaches now make perfect sense, as does Cricketk's commentary about the volume of food required to be eaten. I didn't think it was an impossible amount of food - apparently because I don't really understand the protein component properly.

20 grams of protein does NOT equate to 20 grams of chicken. Ah ha!   20 grams + of protein equates to like 100 grams of chicken. ahhhh. plus the same amount of legumes and the same again of vegies.

Riiiight. Really not likely to be hungry on this diet at all.
