Am studying. Look! Reading an Act and...
"A cout that under subsection (2)(a) imposes no sentence is nevertheless taken to have sentenced the offender". Part 5 s39(5) of the Sentencing Act (WA) 1995.
Actually I do realise what this means*, but seriously, there is NO WAY laymen can make sense of legislation. Which is a part of their civic contract. Let alone all the modifications that cases and precedent bring to the party.
*that law school has warped my brain the same way as those who write all this dreadful legislation?
